DAILY QUIET TIME GUIDE

1. Prepare Your Heart
What's the best time of the day for you to spend time with God? Find a
quiet spot. Get rid of your phone.
Begin with a simple prayer: God, teach me, reveal Yourself to me, correct
any errors or misunderstanding in my thinking, purify my motives as I learn
and direct my day according to Your Word.

2. Reading the Bible (7–10 Minutes)
Focus on quality over quantity.
• Pick a Plan. 30 Days with Jesus, 90 Days Thru the NT, pick a book
like Matthew or Ephesians.
• Read Slowly. Read the passage once. Read it again. Don't hesitate
to read it a third time in a different version.
• Reflect. Ask questions like...
◦ What does this teach me about Jesus/God/the Spirit?
◦ How does this passage heal my heart?
◦ How does this passage guide my life?
◦ How does this passage draw me closer to God?
• Write It Down. This is the key move from reading to study.
• Do It. What is this passage asking you to do, believe, or feel?
Applying the Bible to your life is exactly what faith looks like.

3. Talking with God (5 Minutes)
Prayer is just a conversation.
• Tell God what you love about Him.
• Admit where you’ve messed up and ask Him for forgiveness.
• Pray for the needs of others and yourself.
• Sit in silence and take time to hear from God.

4. Surrendering Your Life (5 Minutes)
Give control of your schedule, your worries, and your reactions to God.
• You might choose a verse from your reading to memorize and carry
with you through the day. Look for ways to apply that truth to various
situations.
• Who can you encourage by sharing what you discovered in your quiet
time?
• Remind yourself that God is God and you are not. Make the
intentional decision to follow God's leading today.
Tips for Success
• Consistency over Intensity: 10 minutes every day is better than an
hour once a week.
• Grace, Not Law: If you miss a day, don't give up. Start again
tomorrow. God is interested in your heart, not your streak.
• Closeness Is Key: Resist simply going "through the motions". At the
same time, understand that some days, that's exactly what it can look
like. Talk with your friend or Lighthouse Group co-leader if that
becomes the norm.
